As expected, Lady Gaga stole the show at the CFDA awards, towering above the crowd in her 12-inch platforms and Thierry Mugler ensemble. In order to actually make it down the red carpet, Gaga needed to lean on her 19-year-old sister, Natali Germanotta, for balance.
Other stars that stood out at the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards on June 6 included a very pregnant Jessica Alba in Diane von Furstenberg, who told reporters, “I feel great,” as she rushed by them. Twilight’s Ashley Greene lit up the red carpet in her highlighter-pink and black Michael Kors mini. “I think the dress is fun and sporty and sexy at the same time,” Ashley told In Touch. Kerry Washington also deserved a second glance in her Calvin Klein white-hot number which she said she loved because it was “feminine” and had “clean lines.”
Two stars who were nearly overlooked — merely because they were being blocked by their two bodyguards and publicists — were Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. The night’s honorees were decked out in their line, The Row, and more than $1 million-worth of Cartier jewels!
