When Sister Wives star Meri Brown entered a relationship with someone online, she confessed to In Touch that she began the romance “during an emotional and vulnerable time earlier this year.”
But In Touch Weekly has obtained voicemails left by Meri for “Sam Cooper” — the name of the “man” she fell for, who turned out to be a woman “Catfishing” Meri — in which she appears to grow desperate and needy as the “man” she fell for begins to pull away.
“Baby, where are you? What’s going in? I don’t know what happened,” the mother-of-one says in one of the voicemails. “I don’t know why you’re not answering. I don’t know why you won’t text me back. I don’t know why you hung up on me. You don’t need to run from me, okay baby? I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. I love you. Call me back. Love you.”
In another message she left for Sam — who claimed to be a 6-foot-6 business man from Chicago, but in reality is a woman named Jackie ton pretending to be a man — Meri pleads, “Sam, I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry. I’m just so scared right now. I just know what I want, and I don’t know if I’m going to get it. I don’t know if you’re gonna walk away from me. I just wish you’d answer your phone. I wish you’d talk to me. I’m just so scared.”
Meri’s fear is understandable. “Sam” was acting distant — after the 44-year-old put her future in jeopardy by not only cheating on her spiritual husband, Kody, but also complaining about their unconventional relationship to the new man in her life.
And now she’s facing the consequences, as her family is beginning to fall apart, partially because of Meri’s actions.
A source tells In Touch that her “sister wife” Robyn knew about the “Catfishing” situation from the beginning but didn’t do anything to take action — instead, she reportedly sat back as Meri’s world began to crumble.
And after trashing her spiritual husband and putting her family structure at risk — Meri makes it clear in another voicemail that she’s desperate for whatever she has with “Sam” to work out.
“Samuel, I’m sorry that you felt like that was a comparison. All I was saying was I had that. I know that feels like,” she tells him. “That’s not what I’m looking for with you. You understand? What I want with you is something deeper, stronger and more passionate. It’s what we have. We have something more passionate than I’ve ever felt!”
