"I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” the X Factor judge tells In Touch, on newsstands now. “I’m really looking forward to [fatherhood]. My dad was a great influence on me, and I hope I can teach my child some of what he taught me.”
Simon admits he’s got a lot to learn when it comes to baby duties and that he’s “absolutely not” changing diapers, but when it comes to raising the child, he’ll be a pro!

“I’m not sure I’m that great with babies, so I’m going to need to get a lot of help with that part. There are all those things to think about, like how you hold them and stuff like that," Simon tells In Touch. ”But I’m pretty good with kids, especially when they’re at an age where they can talk. I like the idea of having a pal!”
The duo are expecting in “February-ish,” according to the X Factor judge, who went through a messy start after news broke that Lauren was carrying his child while married to his friend, Andrew. But, for the first time in months, “Everything is kind of calm now,” Simon says. “I’m really, really happy.”
