Murphy’s Death: Was
Questions about the cause of Brittany Murphy’s death have lingered ever since her unexpected passing on Dec. 20, 2009.
Although it was ruled that the 32-year-old died of natural causes (pneumonia and anemia), some had their doubts—especially when her husband, Simon Monjack, was found dead five months later from similar causes.
“It’s beyond strange,” the Clueless star’s mother, Sharon told In Touch at the time. “I don’t understand it.”
According to an independent report ordered by Brittany’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, ten heavy metals (which are found in most rat poisons) were detected in her blood, hair and tissue samples.
“If we were to eliminate the possibility of an accidental heavy metals exposure to the sample donor then the only logical explanation would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent,” the report says, noting that at the time of her death, Brittany displayed all the symptoms of heavy metal poisoning including: dizziness, congestion and pneumonia.
While the LAPD has yet to comment Brittany’s father isn’t ready back down. “I will not rest until the truth about these tragic events is told,” says Angelo. “There will be justice for Brittany.”
