It seems that the days of Shakira shaking her hips—with men—are over!
The cover star of Billboard's March 15th issue talks about her relationship with soccer player Gerard Piqué and the restrictions he sets when it comes to her music videos.
“He’s very territorial, and since he no longer lets me do videos with men, well, I have to do them with women,” the 37-year-old singer says.
“It’s more than implied in our relationship that I can’t do videos like I used to. It’s out of the question — which I like, by the way.”
This might be the reason why Shakira is seen in her latest video, Can’t Remember to Forget You, frolicking on a bed with no other than Rihanna—sans men joining in.
“I like that he protects his turf and he values me, in a way that the only person that he would ever let graze my thigh would be Rihanna,” Shakira adds.
Shakira met the Spanish stud back in 2010 when he appeared in her music video Waka Waka. The couple now have a 13-month-old son, Milan, together.
“We’re very much alike. We’re so similar...We’re so compatible,” Shakira shares in Latino magazine's April issue. “We want the same things, we like the same things, we hate the same things. We’re so passionate the same way.”
Shakira, her first album in four years, is scheduled to be released on March 21 featuring Canadian reggae-pop band Magic! and fellow Voice judge Blake Shelton.
