Is it too late to say blow here? Selena Gomez's mom has made it very clear she doesn't want her daughter dating Justin Bieber. But Mandy Teefey has agreed to accept the relationship under one condition: Selena has to prove her sobriety.
The "Wolves" singer underwent a kidney transplant over the summer and her mom wants her to prove she is living a clean lifestyle by taking "random Breathalyzer tests," a source reveals to In Touch exclusively. Mandy "lives in fear that Selena could fall back into her old habits." Last month, Mandy was reportedly hospitalized after a fight with her daughter over her rekindled romance — and she's stilled worried about the Bieb's negative influence.
"She worries that Selena has been drinking again and fears Justin will eventually lead her back to partying," the source explains before adding, "Selena is so desperate to make things work that she might agree." Previously, it was reported that Justin's mom Patti Mallette had the opposite reaction to Jelena 2.0 — and she wants her son to pop the question ASAP.
"People in Mandy’s camp are saying it could get real ugly,” a source told Life & Style. “Mandy says Justin is trouble and immature, and she wants to knock some sense into Pattie and tell her their kids are better off apart.”
The insider continued, "[Mandy's] seen the highs and lows of their relationship up close and she’s not a fan.” Despite their feuding moms, Justin, 23, and Selena, 25, seem happier than ever — and don't care what other people think about their relationship. "It's not really my concern anymore," she told Billboard. "My family is great. My health is great. I love deeply and I think that's just who I am. I'm not really ashamed. I'm good, I'm really good."
