Taylor Swift is heading to the small screen!
It’s been confirmed that the “Red” crooner will join Zooey Deschanel and friends for the season finale of the FOX hit New Girl.
So who will she play? Wait for it…
Swifty will reportedly play the role of a guest at the wedding of CeCe (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha)— but not just any guest. It’s rumored that she and Schmidt will share common ground in the fact that they’re both exes of the groom and bride, respectively.
And anyone who knows Taylor Swift knows that when it comes to her exes, she plays dirty.
Much like her song “Speak Now”— which details the attempts of a young woman trying to prevent her ex-boyfriend’s nuptials on his wedding day— Taylor may be mirroring the actions in the tune during her guest spot.
“Don't say yes, run away now/ I'll meet you when you're out/ Of the church at the back door,” Taylor croons in the single. “Don't wait or say a single vow/ You need to hear me out/ And they said ‘Speak Now.’”
And Taylor must be a big fan of the comedy series, as the 23-year-old once admitted it would take the perfect role to pull her away from her music.
"I think, as far as branching out with acting, it would take something really right on the mark to distract me from music, because music is everything to me," she once said. "If it were CSI or Grey's Anatomy or a movie that was really, really smart, then I think I might venture off.”
It looks like New Girl fits the bill!
The show’s season finale, titled “Downton Abbey Christmas Special,” will air May 14 on FOX. Will you tune in to see Taylor?
