Kerry Washington opens up in the new issue of In Touch magazine about how difficult it is to juggle her career and motherhood.
“Honestly, it’s no joke! [Laughs] It’s the real deal,” Kerry tells In Touch magazine. And while becoming a mother made life “better in every way” the star admits that working while raising daughter Isabelle, 16 months, can be tricky. “You can’t be all things to all people all the time.”

Kerry credits Shonda Rhimes in helping her navigate working and being a mother. “One of the greatest things about having her as a boss is that she is a woman who really understands,” Kerry says. "She’s a mother and has four shows, along with three kids.”
And on those rare breaks when Kerry does have downtime, she chooses to relax on vacation. “I think my honeymoon was the best one — it was amazing,” she tells In Touch. "I always say my favorite weeks in my life so far are my honeymoon and doing Saturday Night Live — not counting every second with my kid!”
