“I’m actually looking for like a giant animal to get North,” Rob revealed on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. “The baby came a month early. It’s so small, she needs a big stuffed animal.”
Born weighing only 4 pounds, 15 ounces, little North West— who’s being nicknamed “Nori”— has been receiving a lot of love from family members. But, unfortunately, not everyone is on board with her controversial moniker.
“I told Kim and Kanye this: I’m like, ‘Yo, people are always going to talk whether it’s good or bad. There’s always going to be the haters, but do what you guys feel,’” Rob says. “Like, you know everyone’s going to say, ‘Oh, you’re coming up with some weird celebrity, crazy name.’ You know how it is.”
So is he in favor of his new niece’s name?
“North West, it sounds cool!” he exclaims. “[And] North is the highest point, so it has a lot of meaning to it.”
Just yesterday, Kris Jenner opened up about why the first-time parents decided to name their baby girl North. "The way [Kim] explained it to me, north means highest power, and North is their highest point together,” she told the ladies of The View. “I thought that was really sweet."
But Rob, who had no problem gushing about his niece, also noted that he’s made sure to give Kim and Kanye their space to soak up parenthood as a pair.
“When it comes to babies I like to give the person all their time with their significant other [to] let them enjoy their moment,” the E! star shares. “I’m happy the baby is healthy and my sister is healthy.”
