As if Rihanna didn’t have her hands full from all of those Grammy Awards, the singer is now trying her hand at designing.
A new video of the “Diamonds” singer gives fans a sneak peek into the inspiration behind her first-ever clothing collection with River Island, a fashion line which she’ll debut on Feb. 16 at London’s Fashion Week.
"I've wanted to design my own fashion line for a very long time," she says. "I just felt like every time I saw something on a rack, there was something I wanted to do to it to change it. So I felt like, the only way I can do that is by designing my perfect thing for me."

In the black-and-white video, Rihanna discusses her target audience for the collection and what she hopes to achieve as a designer.
"My style is definitely inspired by my mood, so this collection will definitely have a range of different moods, different attitudes," she explains. "I wanted all types of girls to really want to wear this and feel comfortable in it but still feel edgy.”

So who is RiRi’s ideal buyer? "Young women—young sassy personalities," she admits.
And if the Bajan beauty’s duds are as fabulous as her songs, fans are in for a treat. As a fashion icon to tons of girls all over the world, Rihanna is sticking to a simple, style approach for her new line: "I wanted character to come out in the clothes without trying too hard."
