Ricki Lake is back and better than ever!
The lovable talk show host-turned-actress-turned-Dancing With the Stars contestant has come full circle and will debut her new talk show, The Ricki Lake Show, on Sept. 10.
And this time, Ricki says, it'll be more mature. Having gone through a divorce, a new marriage and everything in between, the talk queen says she's no Oprah but that the topics will be interesting to women.
"It’s different this time around because I’m so different," Ricki tells In Touch. "When I did my show in 1993, it was the first time a younger show was being done with a younger audience and the idea was to hire a young female host, and they picked me for whatever reason."
The new and improved Ricki says that she didn't know what she was doing the first time around, but that now she knows exactly who she is.
"Since going off the air, I’ve done so much," she says. "I’ve very much evolved and gotten a sense of who I am and I have credibility and know who I am."
And of course, Ricki will tackle the topic that has haunted her all her life — her weight.
"I still struggle with that every day; it's my demon," she says.
In fact, it's such a personal topic for the star, she's made it the subject of her premiere episode, which will feature a woman who went from a size 28 to a size 4 and a glamorous makeover for a woman who shed a whopping 110 pounds.
