Throughout her decade-spanning career, Ricki Lake’s weight has fluctuated greatly. But her most recent weight gain — possibly triggered by her recent divorce from husband Christian Evans — has doctors concerned the otherwise-healthy 46-year-old may be putting her life at risk.

“She looks as if she’s gained 80 pounds,” Dr. Stuart Fischer, who has not treated the Cry-Baby actress, tells Radar.
“If she keeps this up, she’ll put herself at risk for 65 life-threatening diseases.”
Ricki weighed nearly 300 pounds when she was cast in her breakout role of overweight teenager Tracy Turnblad in 1988’s Hairspray. She went on to shed around 100 pounds in 1993 — only to gain it all back.

She gave extreme dieting another go in 2007, only to gain back the weight she lost for a second time.
After a stint on Dancing With the Stars in 2011, she danced her way down to a super-slim 120 pounds. But shortly thereafter, she told In Touch she was “too skinny” and explained how her now-estranged husband helped her learn to love her body.
The one-time talk show host said, “My husband loves me and tells me I’m beautiful no matter what size I am.”

With her husband allegedly out of the picture, Dr. Fischer is encouraging her to get healthy — before it’s too late.
“Every time her weight goes up, she increases her blood sugar and cholesterol to dangerous levels,” the doctor explains.
“Every time she uses a starvation diet, she risks cardiac arrest and stroke. She’s not a kid anymore. Her body just can’t take it.”
