Legendary music producer Rick Rubin is so rich and famous, he can't be bothered cleaning up to get an award given to him — or even coming onstage to accept it.
The Recording Academy paid tribute to the Def Jam founder Thursday night with an award at a Grammys gala thrown in his honor. And what did Rick, 52, do? Why, he wore sweats for the occasion, of course — specifically his trademark hoodie, T-shirt, gym shorts and Tevas.

Rick, who has been behind the success of groups and singers including the Beastie Boys, Lady Gaga, LL Cool J, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Adele, the Dixie Chicks and Black Sabbath, also refused to come onstage to accept the President's Merit Award given as a tribute to his work.
Instead, he stayed on a couch in a private room all evening, so the award had to be brought to him by Academy President Neil Portnow.
Guess the music guru is nothing if not original! Congratulations, Rick!
