For a show that's fueled on non-stop drama, fights, and who gon check me boos, it's no surprise that The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kandi Burruss has learned quite a bit about the art of shade.
“Shade is indirectly dogging somebody out," she EXCLUSIVELY explained to InTouchWeekly.com. "So if you know something about a person or know something that people always say about that person but they never say it to them, you can use that.”

But shading someone is harder than you think. It's important to get the lingo down.
"[There's] an episode where someone's like, 'I [didn't] throw shade, it was like a light shade,'" she laughed. "Like what does 'light shade' mean?"
Want to become the master at tearing someone down with a flick of your eye? Kandi breaks it all down in this handy Shade 101 guide. Use it the next time someone comes at you sideways.
The easiest example of shade, use the side-eye as a way to confirm the situation in front of you. That's right. You saw that.
