‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ Stars Remy Ma and Cardi B Go Head to Head at 2017 BET Awards

It was a battle of the Bronx beauties — and only one could be crowned the Queen of Rap!

Hip hop star Remy Ma went up against her fellow Love & Hip Hop New York castmate Cardi B for the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award at the 2017 BET Awards — and she won! It was her first time winning in that category, beating out Cardi — breaking her nemesis Nicki Minaj's seven-year winning streak.

Remy — who was wearing a gorgeous sparkling fringed gown — gave her husband Papoose a quick kiss before she took the stage and accepted her award. In her speech, she opened up about “second chances” and she even thanked the correctional facilities that she served six years in prison for assault, illegal weapon possession, and attempted coercion in connection with those charges.

“To everybody who think there’s no such thing as second chances, I’m here to tell you that’s a lie. You just gotta keep working hard,” the 37-year-old said.

The "All the Way Up" rapper also thanked her hubby because she said when she didn't believe in herself, he believed in her. She also thanked her fellow Terror Squad member Fat Joe — whom she referred to as her brother, and then she went into a short little freestyle rap where she name-dropped Lil’ Kim, Cardi B, Young M.A. — and she even seemingly took a shot at her rival Nicki.

“Y’all b—-es got fat while we starved, shots in your a–, pads in your bras. Y’all some liars, it ain’t no facts in your songs,” she said, as the crowd roared. “And yeah — that crown is coming back to the Bronx. I see you Kim, I see you Cardi, M.A. — I love y’all.”
