She may be a gorgeous Oscar winner, but Reese Witherspoon is as human as the next person and was devastated by the end of her marriage to Ryan Phillippe last year. "Right around Christmastime I was sitting in a parking lot and I felt like I just couldn't get out of the car," she tells Elle magazine. But recognizing that a whole lot of other people have survived divorce helped her through it. "I thought, 'okay, half of the parking lot has dealt with this... half of the country - until I finally got out of the car. It was like it's okay, it's okay.'" As for her type-A image, Reese refutes it, "I wouldn't be able to do what I do if I were [always in control]. I wouldn't be able to have the empathy or the capacity to understand different lives." As for her own life, she'd just like the paparazzi to leave her alone. "Everybody is hung out to dry now," says Reese. "It's one thing if you're up for it and you want it, and you go out without your panties on. But if you're wearing your panties - gosh darn it, leave me alone!"
