Funny girl Rebel Wilson exclusively tells In Touch, on stands now, that her size has never hindered her from landing major roles.
The comedian thanks her full figure for helping her succeed. “One of the reasons my agents signed me is because I’m not like any other girl here. It has made things easier for me, I’m distinctive,” Rebel tells the mag.
The 27-year-old actress stole the show in Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect, and now she’s taking her big personality to the new ABC sitcom Super Fun Night as co-creator, writer and star.
Rebel plays the super-awkward, oddball character Kimmie Boubier in Super Fun Night and explains to the mag that she wants to put out an inspirational message to girls with insecurities. “I want to inspire girls who don’t think they’re cool or pretty. To do that, I need to put out a realistic version of what it’s like to be a girl who looks like me. Sometimes that means getting broken up with by a dude who says, ‘You’re too fat.’ That way, when my character wins, it’s gratifying."
