The hilarious Rebel Wilson won us over in flicks like Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect, but it turns out the “29-year-old” has allegedly been deceiving fans in a major way!
“I studied with Rebel at Tara Anglican School for Girls in North Parramatta, Sydney,” a source told Woman’s Day Australia. “But no one knew of a Rebel Wilson. Her name is – or was – Melanie Elizabeth Bownds, and she’s 36 – she was born in 1979 and we left school in 1997.”
So she lied about her name AND age? Say it ain't so!

A school picture in the link above shows the star posing in a "Year 12" school photo with the Bownds name. The year was 1997, which would match up with the insider's claims that she's actually 36.

To make matters worse, the classmate claims Reb was not even funny back then.
“She was definitely not the class clown; none of us remember her being funny,” the source alleged.
Well, Rebel has issued a response to the story in a pretty funny way:
OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as "CC Chalice" ....thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome x— Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) May 18, 2015

Oh, and Rebel is probably laughing about this on her way to the bank, considering her new flick Pitch Perfect 2 made an estimated $70.3 million during its opening weekend — making it the biggest musical opening ever!
