'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice has reported to jail to begin her 15-month prison sentence, an attorney for the reality star has confirmed.
The 42-year-old surrendered herself to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn. at around 3 a.m. today, Jan. 5. It’s the same prison facility where Martha Stewart served time, additionally it was the inspiration for the fictional Litchfield women’s prison in ‘Orange Is the New Black.’

This comes after she and husband Joe pleaded guilty to several counts of wire, bankruptcy and mail fraud last March. They admitted to hiding assets from bankruptcy court and submitting fake loan applications to obtain about $5 million in mortgages and construction loans.
After completing her 15 months behind bars, her husband, Joe, will begin his own sentence of 41 months.

In a statement to NJ.com, the reality star’s attorney, James J. Leonard, said she checked into the facility 10 hours ahead of schedule because she was “ready.”
“Teresa is a very strong woman, she won’t have any problems in there,” he said.
