After In Touch revealed that the untimely death of music legend Prince is under federal investigation, TMZ reports Dr. Michael Schulenberg — who is allegedly being investigated for writing prescriptions for the singer — has abruptly left his medical practice.
According to a rep from the North Memorial Physicians clinic in Minnesota where Dr. Schulenberg worked, “[He left] in the last few days.”
However, no one will say why and it is unclear whether he was terminated or quit.

A source for the Department of Justice previously told In Touch, “[The investigation] will be throwing all of their resources into uncovering prescription abuses by the doctors who have issued the prescriptions to Prince. They will be looking into all the doctors, how he obtained the medications, who prescribed them, how the doctors’ prescribing habits [had been] in the past.”
Dr. Schulenberg saw the iconic singer on April 20, one day before Prince passed away at his Paisley Park estate at the age of 57.
