Robin Thicke recently opened up about how his estranged wife, Paula Patton, left him because of his previous battles with alcoholism and substance abuse.
And if his marriage wasn’t a big enough sacrifice, it appears he’s about to pay the ultimate price for his candid admission—as a source claims the actress is going after full custody of their 4-year-old son Julian.
“Paula will not allow Robin to be present in Julian’s life if he is still drinking and using drugs,” a source close to Paula dishes. “He needs to stop altogether.”
Robin Thicke Has Been Partying Almost Every Night Since Hi Separation
In his deposition for the lawsuit being filed by Marvin Gaye’s family members—who claim Robin and pal Pharrell’s hit song “Blurred Lines” ripped off the legendary singer’s 1977 hit “Got To Give It Up”—he allegedly admitted he was “high on Vicodin and alcohol” when he was in the studio, and later blamed his problems for his separation.
“I told my wife the truth,” he said in the deposition. “That’s why she left me.”
The 37-year-old now claims he’s been clean of Vicodin for two months, but still drinks—a habit that will ultimately cost him custody of his son, if he doesn’t give it up.
“The only way that Paula would go after full custody is if Robin does not get his sh-t together,” the source explains.
