When Paul Walker tragically died at the age of 40 last November, fans of the Fast & Furious franchise were left wondering how the iconic series would go on without the handsome and generous leading man.
But the answer quickly became a no-brainer: His brothers Cody and Caleb—who bare a striking resemblance to the beloved actor—would be able to complete the Fast & Furious 7 scenes Paul was unable to complete.

Now, however, a source close to the production reveals Cody will not just be standing in as his brother’s character Brian O’Conner—he will be introduced as a new character in the series.
“Paul’s character Brian O’Conner will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew,” the source tells the Daily Mail.
“Of course, Cody isn’t a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody is so likeable and charming.
“It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in The Fast and The Furious movies.”

And based on the way Cody spoke of his brother, it sounds like he’d be honored to carry on Paul’s legacy—not only as a talented actor, but also as an incredibly kindhearted and compassionate person.
“Anyone that’s ever met Paul,” he told the Associated Press between tears. “…if you ever met him out in public, if you didn’t recognize him, he’d never mention it. He was just so low-key and lived such a modest life.”
