After a housekeeper discovered pot in Joel Madden’s Australian hotel room this weekend, the venue kicked him out and called the cops— and now the Good Charlotte singer is coming clean about the drugs."Sunday while I was at work, a hotel employee found a small amount of marijuana in my hotel room,” he wrote in a statement on his Tumblr account. “The police were called and responded. Sydney is my adopted home and I appreciate the way the NSW police handled the situation. They have informed me there will be no charges. I hope this didn't cause too much drama for anyone."According to the Sydney Morning Herald, there were less than five grams of marijuana inside his room at the Darling Hotel. Although the investigation continues, the same publication claims Joel was not charged because Australian law permits authorities to issue a simple caution when only a small amount of drugs are found."He was not afforded any special treatment and he's moved out," a spokesman for Echo Entertainment, which oversees the casino/hotel where he was staying, told the outlet. The star— who is currently married to Nicole Richie and has two children with her, daughter Harlow, 5, and son Sparrow, 3 ½ — has been staying at that hotel while he serves as a judge on the Aussie version of The Voice. His fellow judge, Seal, has also made that same hotel his home away from home.
