Snakes have long been a part of the MTV Video Music Awards, most famously with Britney Spears owning the stage back in 2001 as she performed "I'm A Slave 4 U" with a little help from an albino python, but it seems that Nicki Minaj's attempts to wow the crowd with a little reptile action caused a big problem in rehearsals this week as a snake bit one of her dancers.
That may just be the most terrifying workplace injury of all time.
According to TMZ, a six-foot long snake which, given the title of Nicki's latest jam we have to assume was an anaconda, bit a female dancer during a run through of the rapper's performance for Sunday, and was quickly removed from the stage in a container.
The good news for this dancer is that anacondas are not venomous. The bad news is that she was bit by a large snake and is most likely scarred for life.
At least the MTV Video Music Awards can now truly say they are the one awards show where literally anything can happen. Anything.
