According to a new report, the New York State Department of Health is reviewing Yorkville Endoscopy — the clinic where Joan Rivers checked in for a routine procedure, only to be rushed out in an ambulance after suffering respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Sources tell TMZ that officials are “reviewing” the case and have contacted the clinic twice since Joan’s initial health scare occurred last Thursday, Aug. 28.

State officials made it clear that an official investigation has not been launched, explaining the process of reviewing the situation could take weeks or even months.
At this time, the state is reportedly looking into the clinic as a whole, rather than questioning the specific doctor who performed on the 81-year-old comedienne.
Yesterday, Melissa Rivers confirmed her mother “has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable” at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
At this time, it’s unclear whether she’s still on life support.
