Since 'N Sync's 2002 breakup, fans have been waiting patiently (or, well, not so patiently) to see if the '90s boy band would ever reunite. Well, it looks like that wish is finally coming true!
According to Page Six, sources tell the outlet that Justin Timberlake -- who is set to peform and receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn, NY on Aug. 25 -- will be joined on stage by his former bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone for a special reunion performance!
USA Today reports that MTV intern Brett S. Vergara tweeted about it as well, but that tweet has since been deleted.
The news comes as a big surprise considering that Justin has previously badmouthed the group and the stylin' looks he sported while a member. (Remember the cornrows?)
"There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in," said Justin, who also didn't invite the group to his October 2012 wedding to Jessica Biel. "And in trying to conform -- we're marionettes -- I ended up looking like a moron." But now it looks like Justin - who is promoting his new album The 20/20 Experience, had a change of heart!
Are you excited to see the group on stage together again? Sound off in comments!
And just for fun, here's their VMA performance from 2000:
