Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there's something seriously disturbing about living in a home where a person was brutally murdered. Still, this hasn't stopped people from renting and even purchasing the places where JonBenét Ramsey, Nicole Brown Simpson, and more saw their final hours.

Nicole Brown Simpson's Condo (Los Angeles, CA)

The four-bedroom Brentwood, CA home where Nicole Brown Simpson — ex-wife of O.J. Simpson — and friend Ron Goldman were murdered is currently occupied, but it was initially a hard sell. In 1995, the condo was put on the market for $795,000 but sat empty for two years. It finally sold at $595,000 (a bargain for that many bedrooms in the area!), which is obviously far below the area's assessed value. Current residents still have to contend with tourists, two decades after the double homicide.

The "Amityville Horror" House (Amityville, NY)

The house at 112 Ocean Avenue has had a steady stream of tourists for years – from the 1974 murders of the DeFeo family by the eldest son, Ronald, to the subsequent book about the home's hauntings, and the 1979 movie, The Amityville Horror, the home has drawn paranormalists and thrill-seekers for decades. Unfortunately, much to the annoyance of the town's residents.

The house was put on the market in 2010 with an asking price of $1.5 million, and it was eventually purchased for $995,000. When the owner had a moving sale at the house, hundreds of people turned up and were allowed inside. As of June 2016, however, it was back on the market. This time, it was priced at just $850,000. What a steal!

The LaBianca House (Los Angeles, CA)

From Aug. 8, 1969, to Aug. 10, 1969, Charles Manson's followers brutally murdered five people at the Benedict Canyon home of director Roman Polanski. Displeased with the sloppiness of his previous night's murders, he joined his followers for a second murder spree the following evening at the home of grocery store owner Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, in LA.

The home in Benedict Canyon was destroyed after Nine Inch Nails founder Trent Reznor recorded his hit album The Downward Spiral there in the 90s. However, the LaBianca house still stands and has largely remained occupied since. After the murders, a Filipino couple (rumored to be BFFs with Imelda Marcos) bought the house. As the structure stands today, a pool and a carport have been added and the address has been changed from 3301 to 3311. The house was sold again in 1998 for $375,000.

JonBenét Ramsey House (Boulder, CO)

JonBenét Ramsey's Colorado home has been on the market for a while. In 2011, the property was listed for $2.3 million, but no one bought it. In March 2014, the same owners lowered the price to $1.985 million in hopes someone would see the beauty of the home, despite the tragedy that occurred there.

In 1996, six-year-old JonBenét was murdered. Her body was found in the basement about eight hours after she was reported missing during a police search. She had been struck on the head and strangled, and her murder remains unsolved to this day. Conspiracy theorists, however, believe she wasn't actually killed and instead grew up to be Katy Perry. (Lol).

Co-owner Carol Schuller Milner once said of the property, "Some people are making this a dark monument as opposed to thinking about the restoration that can occur after a tragedy. Death is not the last word, and God is not bound by death. I just don't believe it's in his character to abandon us, and that affects my ability to look at this house and see all the beautiful things about it."

The Wonderland Avenue Murder House (Los Angeles, CA)

In July 1981, four people were murdered as they slept in the house at 8763 Wonderland Avenue, and the prime suspect was legendary porn star, John Holmes. In 2008, the two-bed/two-bath rental nestled in a highly desirable area in Laurel Canyon and priced at $3,000 a month appeared on Craigslist.

The Sowden House (Los Angeles, CA)

From 1945 through 1951, the Sowden House was owned by Dr. George Hodel, an LA physician who was a prime suspect in the infamous Black Dahlia murder. His son, Steve, a former LAPD homicide detective, claimed in his 2003 book Black Dahlia Avenger that the Dahlia, Elizabeth Short, was tortured, murdered, and dissected by his father inside the house in January 1947.

As of April 2017, the Sowden House — which is on the National Register of Historic Places — was on the market for $4.698 million. It was last sold in 2011 for $3.85 million and returned to market in 2013, asking $4.888 million. Any takers?!

Menendez Murder House (Beverly Hills, CA)

On Aug. 20, 1989, privileged brothers Lyle, 21, and Erik Menendez, 18, gunned down their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion. The two admitted to having committed the murders but claimed they were victims of abuse. The jury, however, disagreed and found them guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Elm Drive house where the crimes occurred has been sold twice since the murders – first in 1993 to television writer William Link and then in 2001 to a telecommunications executive named Sam Delug. In 2002, major renovations occurred at the home, but the exterior generally looks the same.

Jeffrey Dahmer's Childhood Home (Bath Township, OH)

What appears to be an ordinary, suburban ranch was once home to serial murderer and cannibal, Jeffrey Dahmer. He murdered his first victim, Steven Hicks, in this very house back in 1978 before scattering Hicks' remains around the property. Over the course of the next 13 years, Jeffrey murdered 16 more victims and was finally arrested in 1991. He was killed in 1994 in prison by another inmate.

The 2,170-square-feet house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and is priced at $295,000. Realtor Rich Lubinski of Stouffer Reality Inc. says that while the house may be a tough sell, it's not impossible. He said, "this house never killed anyone." Enticing!

According to AOL, the home was recently available for rent during the 2016 Republican National Convention at a rate of $8,000 per week. The home last sold in December 2005 for $244,500 to Chris Butler, founder of the band "The Waitresses."
