In Touch has exclusively learned that the untimely death of music icon Prince is now the subject a federal investigation.

“The [Department of Justice] will be investigating Prince’s death along with the [Drug Enforcement Administration],” a source in the DOJ tells In Touch. “The DEA and the DOJ in Minneapolis will team up and bring an enormous amount of resources to this investigation. The parallels between this and Michael Jackson’s death are obvious.”

The investigation “will be throwing all of their resources into uncovering prescription abuses by the doctors who have issued the prescriptions to Prince. They will be looking into all the doctors, how he obtained the medications, who prescribed them, how the doctors’ prescribing habits [had been] in the past. They will be looking into all the dark corners of this to see beyond what the county can not.”
