Known as Phil and Claire Dunphy’s dimwitted son Luke on the hit show Modern Family, Nolan Gould is quite the opposite in real life!

While most 13-year-olds are just finishing middle school and transitioning from awkward adolescent into teenager, Nolan has already won a Screen Actors Guild Award, several Emmys and graduated from High School…5 years early!

The young actor is a member of Mensa, the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world— quite a stretch from his Modern Family character who’s not the brightest crayon in the box.

So how does he manage to star in one of the most popular shows on television while jumping grades like a pro?

"Over the summer, I did a lot of studying and I took an exam and tested out of high school,” Nolan says of his book smarts. “So I'm hopefully going to go on and do some online community college courses."

No wonder the boy with the 150 IQ is a genius on-screen, too! He’s come a long way since modeling pirate costumes as a tot.

Oh, kids these days…
