A rep for the actor confirmed the break up, saying, “In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation.”
The Pirates of the Carribean stud, 36, and the Victoria’s Secret beauty, 30, began dating in 2007 and wed in 2010; their son Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom was born on Jan. 6, 2011.
Orlando made his Broadway debut as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet; earlier this month, Miranda gushed about how impressed she was with his performance to Cosmo.
“When I saw Orlando on Broadway for Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away,” she told the women’s mag. “For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week—I have so much respect for him.”
Fortunately, their relationship is getting a happier ending than the eponymous characters, and assured fans that the love and admiration that Miranda expressed to Cosmopolitan will continue regardless of their relationship status.
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family,” the statement read.
