Miley Cyrus has come to the defense of her homeless friend Jesse Helt after he came under fire for his criminal past.
Yesterday, it was revealed there is a warrant out for the 22-year-old’s arrest in his native Oregon. He’s wanted for violating the terms of his probation, which he has been ordered to obey following his 2010 arrest on the charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and burglary.
And now the 21-year-old Video of the Year winner has responded to critics in a big way.

“While the media obsesses over one homeless man’s legal issues, let’s help the other 1.6 million homeless youth,” she captioned a shot of the duo.
She also included a link to her Prizeo campaign, which is fundraising for the organization My Friend’s Place with a raffle where fans can enter to win a VIP concert experience.
On Twitter, Miley continued to respond to her friend’s critics.
“People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included,” she wrote. “I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it.”
