It was just one year ago today that sweet little Miley Cyrus officially let go of her wholesome Hannah Montana image by throwing on a vinyl bikini and getting her twerk on against Robin Thicke's crotch. That, combined with Robin's outfit we're pretty certain he borrowed from Bettlejuice, made for one of the raunchiest and greatest MTV Video Music Awards moments of all time.
Unless, of course, you're Paula Patton.
That was not the first, and it will most certainly not be the last great moments at this unpredictable awards show, so let's take a look at four other amazing VMA performances that were both risqué and raunchy.
No VMA list is complete without Britney Spears, and her performance at the 2000 awards may go down as one of the greatest of all time. Sure, we all know she isn't really singing, but boy can she dance. And those abs! It's pure pop perfection.
Anything Britney can do Christina Aguilera will try to do better. And try she did at the next year's ceremony with her girls from "Lady Marmalade." The outfits were there and the singing sure was better, but they didn't quite get there.
And now we come to the moment when Britney and Christina were finally brought together by their godmother, Madonna. It was the kiss heard 'round the world, though many do forget Christina was actually a part of this performance.
Finally we have shock jock Lady Gaga who used blood and suicide for her first big VMA performance. We are sure there are many, many more to come from this lady.
