One day after fashion designer and Mick Jagger’s longtime girlfriend L’Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide, the Rolling Stones front man broke his silence with a post on Facebook.
“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me,” he wrote with a picture of the famed designer.
“I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her, Mick.”
On March 17, the 49-year-old was found hanged in her Manhattan apartment by her assistant.
At the time, it was reported that Mick and L’Wren, who have been dating since at least 2003, had broken up, but a rep for the rocker said “there is absolutely no basis in fact to this story” adding he was “completely shocked and devastated” by the tragedy.
Earlier today, The Rolling Stones cancelled a concert in Perth, Australia, which was scheduled to kick off the tour of the country.
While details on L’Wren’s death remain unknown, there were no signs of forced entry, and no suicide note was discovered, officials reported.
