When Michael Douglas won his first Emmy last night, some may have been surprised to hear the 68 year old thank his estranged wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.
But it was his gratitude to his costar Matt Damon that really caught the attention of the audience—both his peers at the show and fans watching at home!

Michael won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his portrayal of Liberace in Behind the Candelabra, in which Matt, 42, played Liberace’s boyfriend, Scott Thorson.
“This is a two-hander and Matt, you’re only as good as your other hand,” Michael said as he accepted his award. “Matt, you deserve half of this. You want the bottom or the top?”

Of course, innuendo aside, Matt and Michael’s light-hearted relationship and great chemistry could explain the success of the Liberace biopic.
Behind the Candelabra also won Outstanding Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or Dramatic Special.

In addition to thanking Matt and his estranged wife, Michael sent a special message to his oldest son, Cameron, who is in prison a drug charge.
“[I want to] shout out to my oldest son Cameron. I'm hoping that I'll be able and they'll allow me to see him soon,” he said.
