Friends and family said a final farewell to comic legend Joan Rivers in LA yesterday, Sept. 13. The group gathered to sit shiva, a week-long mourning period in Judaism.
Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers welcomed guests including Lily Tomlin, Don Rickles, Broadway star Betty Buckley, and Kris Jenner.
And according to one person in attendance, this was no somber affair.
"It was weird to be at an event like that and have a good time, but I think Joan would probably want something like that," an insider told MailOnline.
"It's not really a party, it's just more a celebration," they added.
There was good food, wine, and even a book of photos of Joan and her daughter Melissa for guests to look through.
Joan passed away in NYC on Sept. 4 at the age of 81.
