We didn’t think this was possible—but there’s someone who’s just like Paris Hilton in China!
Oh, wait there’s one major difference: Guo Meimei, China’s leading socialite, is an escort.
According to reports, the 23-year-old, who is famous for posting pictures showing off her looks, wealth and extravagant lifestyle on social media (can you see the comparison now?), has confessed to making large sums of money by working as an escort.
How much you ask? She reportedly charges no less than the equivalent of $17,400 for a night!
Guo Meimei's Sina Weibo account has over 2 million followers!
“I’m really not short of those who want to keep me as mistress. There are many who would spend money to sleep with me for a night, no matter the price,” Guo publicly stated, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, on state television this week. (She was arrested for gambling -- more on that below.)
Guo has now been the attention of Chinese media and it’s not just because of this crime. After she claimed she made her money as a "commercial general manager" for the Chinese Red Cross, the charity denied having any connection with her.
And not to mention, she’s also been arrested for operating an illegal gambling center at a one-room apartment in Beijing. This is a far cry from the 33-year-old hotel heiress who was sentenced to 36 months of probation and had her license suspended after being arrested with DUI charges in 2006.
Guo’s life, which was documented on Sina Weibo—China’s version of Twitter—featured herself posing with luxury sport cars, designer bags and basically everything else we’ve seen on Paris' account.
CNN was the first to report this story.
