As news broke of Glee star Cory Monteith's death in a Vancouver hotel room over the weekend, his costars slowly began taking to social media to post their condolences. Matthew Morrison, who plays Mr. Schuester on the FOX series, had a concert scheduled in NYC.
Rather than cancel the show, Matthew talked about his friend and dedicated a song to Cory. According to The New York Times, Matthew told the audience "You guys came to see a show, I came to perform a show, so that’s what we’ll do. And we’ll do it in Cory’s honor."
The song that Matthew, 34, chose to dedicate to his late costar was "What I Did for Love" from the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. The song has special meaning to fans of Glee, since Cory's real-life girlfriend Lea Michele (who plays Rachel Berry) performed it on the show with an assist from Cory himself. You can listen to their rendition below.
