We Finally Understand the Fiasco That Is Matt Baier’s Family Tree

We’ve seen Amber Portwood‘s man, Matt Baier, at the center of all types of controversies since he first stepped onto the Teen Mom OG scene — and in his new tell-all, You Have No F–king Idea: The Naked Truth About My Life, the reality star addresses some of his biggest scandals.

One, in particular, is the rumor that he has several kids that he failed to tell Amber about — and while the number has changed quite a few times, Matt is finally ready to lay down the truth.

Matt claims in the book that he has five kids and pays child support for a sixth — though he is unsure about whether or not he is the biological father.

Back in December 2015, Amb’s ex and baby daddy, Gary Shirley, discovered that Matt had several kids he didn’t think Amber knew about.

“I’ve been with this man over a year, I think I know him,” she said at the time.

He later sat down with In Touch to clear the air in an exclusive interview.

“There are not seven child support cases against me — that is completely not true. I paid child support for all my kids. I have an arrangement where I pay for education and a few other things. [However,] I don’t have to pay for two of my girls because they have been emancipated,” Matt explained in February 2016.

“When [Gary] brought up the accusations, I was very hurt. But since then, Gary’s been very apologetic. He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I’m sorry,’” he continued. “It’s sad that people are coming up with these crazy stories. Amber and I have a healthy relationship. We have no secrets from each other.”
