For the 10th season of So You Think You Can Dance, judge Mary Murphy is sharing the inside scoop with In Touch readers— everything from show highlights to personal predictions. In Week 5, Mary talks about which routine fell flat—and who she thinks could make it to the finale. Check back every week for more scoop from Mary!Hayley has me very smitten as the competition continues. There’s no denying that the girl is extremely gorgeous and a phenomenal dancer. I don’t think she gets enough credit, but after her last performance, I think people will finally start to take notice. This dance has taken her to another level. I feel too that Hayley is building in her confidence and you can see it in her face during her performances. Now she is attacking everything and she’s always right on top of the beat. She seemed slightly anxious in the beginning of the season, but now she just exudes confidence and I am so proud of where she’s at in the competition. I think we see Hayley as a formidable shoe-in for the finale now, where I don’t think we necessarily saw that before. I definitely see now that she’s a force to be reckoned with. Jasmine also impressed me last night. I guess that kick in the butt last week worked! She is so in-your-face fierce. She and Aaron rocked their number on Tuesday night. They absolutely took it to a whole new level. Experiencing that dance in person, you actually felt like their movements were hitting you. It was awesome! It’s hard to describe unless you were there in person. They mean business, especially Jasmine, who is fighting her way into that finale. Only one performance fell flat for me and that was Malece and Alan’s number. It wasn’t that they did anything wrong. I think both of them looked good, but that’s the problem right now. You can’t just be good anymore. You’re going to have to find a way to make your moment happen on the dance floor – one that will set you apart. They lacked a little bit in style. They executed the steps really well, but I think they were missing the right attitude and their chemistry was questionable. Outside of that number, it was really such a great show! The elimination was tough, but we felt like it was the only thing we really could do. I got a lot of backlash on Twitter for Malece’s elimination. Just to clarify, I love Malece – just as much as any of the other girls. But there’s no way to make everybody happy from here on out. I thought Malece had a nice solo, but it wasn’t enough and I don’t think Alan had a great solo Tuesday night. He was actually even off-time in his genre. I wonder if he noticed? No matter what, it’s always hard to send someone home. All of the dancers on our show have something special about them and I can’t wait to see who makes it to the end of season ten.
