Even with the slip and fall, Amy and Fik-Shun are still one of the couples that came out on top Tuesday night. I think America can’t get enough of the two together! It will be very interesting to see how they cope with new partners in the following week. They are magical together. They always make sure to make the most of their time on the dance floor. Their last routine was so much fun – and who doesn’t love that Marvin Gaye song they danced to? Let’s get it on, baby!

I have to say that Hayley really surprised me last night with her beautiful Argentine tango. She did such a fantastic job with it. I was blown away. Malece also knocked my socks off with the incredibly fast salsa she executed. It was hands down the most difficult routine of the night.

I have to be honest and say that the first hip-hop number wasn’t my favorite. It was Luther Brown’s number with Jenna and Tucker. They’re very good dancers, by the way and they attacked every minute of it, but there was still a style that they weren’t able to capture. It was kind of a shocked that Jasmine fell down into the bottom. With that said, I was happy that Jenna, who is such an amazing dancer too, didn’t. I think it was nice because it will help her boost her self-confidence because she has been in the bottom for weeks and hopefully that gives her a little pep in her step. Being down in the bottom for the first time should probably give Jasmine a little kick in the butt, too!

The hard decision last night to send two tappers home. We love Alexis, but we also love Mackenzie and we’re hoping people will latch on to Mackenzie as they did with Keon. Mackenzie is a star, and it would be nice if America would finally take notice of that.

What I love about this show is that it isn’t a popularity contest. It really revolves around true talent. Although I am frustrated by America’s choices in who they place in the bottom group at times, I love that as a judge, I am able to guide America’s choices to help them identify who is really progressing in this competition. I can’t wait to see who the star of season ten will be!

Until your next trip on the tamale train,

Mary
