Mariska Hargitay wore her "new mommy glow" on the red carpet last night! The proud new mom couldn't resist showing chef Mario Batali photos of her newborn adopted daughter while posing for pictures at the Food Bank For New York City's Can-Do Awards gala on April 7. And when asked how 1-week-old Amaya Josephine has changed her life, she beamed and put her two thumbs up and sighed, "Dreamy!"
Mariska, 47, and her husband, Peter Hermann, 43, recently became proud parents again, adding to their brood, which already includes their son, August, 4. Chris Meloni, her co-star on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, raved about Mariska's maternal tendencies to In Touch. "She's going to be great!" Chris laughed. "She possesses a lot of love. She's extraordinarily intelligent, she understands human behavior and she has endless patience."
Chris added that he hasn't met baby Amaya yet, and while he supported Mariska through the adoption process, there were some bumps along the way. "I haven't seen her since she got back," Chris tells In Touch. "I saw her before, which was a little stressy stressy. But it all worked out. It was a happy ending."
Mario Batali thinks Mariska is such a great mom, he wants to join her household! "I want to move in with her! How's that! I'll help her with the baby, too!" Mario joked with In Touch. "But she has a handsome and capable husband, so I'm sure they've got it all figured out! She's a great cook, too. The last time we were together, we had asparagus and steak. It was perfect."
