Madonna’s latest tour may be called Sticky & Sweet, but there is one descriptive word missing: sparkly. And that’s thanks to Shu Uemura’s artistic director Gina Brooke, who adds actual diamonds to the pop icon’s eyes before each show! Brooke, the same woman who came up with the mink-and diamond-encrusted lashes Madonna donned in 2006, was inspired this time by the Material Mom’s song “Ray of Light.” Brooke takes a mixture of crushed, small, flawless diamonds and white eye shadow (Shu Uemura’s ME White 906 Pressed Eye) and applies it to Madonna’s lids. The combination provides a soft, gorgeous, light-reflecting diamond-like effect, which instantly makes the star look younger. “Madonna is always up for trying new things, and I think all women should feel comfortable experimenting and enhancing their beauty — onstage or off, “ says Brooke. We don’t think you should go chopping up your precious stones, but a little sheen-like shadow mixed with a glitter accent may give you just the same effect!
