She's ditching the dance studio for a movie studio!
Maddie Ziegler is tackling a new role in her professional career, as the Dance Moms star is set to star in her first movie, which happens to be directed by singer-songwriter Sia, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The 12-year-old reality star collaborated in a trilogy of Sia’s music videos and now she’s taking on a major role in a feature film titled Sister based on a one-page story the musician wrote eight years ago.
Sia announced the news at the Venice Days Film Festival and admitted she was too embarrassed to tell anyone she wanted to direct a movie, claiming she “thought it would be seen as a vanity project.”

She revealed why she decided to move forward with production despite her initial fears, explaining, “After I made the ‘Chandelier’ video [which stars Maddie], I realized I was pretty good at directing, and so I felt a little bit braver.”

Though filming hasn’t started yet, judging from the duo's collabs, we can imagine the screenplay will be full of controversial and emotional moments — and maybe even a cameo by Shia LaBeouf!
