Maci Bookout and Husband Taylor McKinney Help Houston — Find out How to Get Involved
Talk about big hearts! Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, have found a way to give back to those in Houston affected by Hurricane Harvey. The generous reality stars have found a way to donate to the community through their fashion line, Things That Matter Lifestyle.
The two deciced to design a special shirt, with all profits going to Hurricane Harvey relief. And in case that isn’t impressive enough, Maci and her husband decided to personally match any donation they’re making to the relief fund. Of course, this is a cause near and dear to Taylor’s heart, as the father-of-two grew up in Texas. As he explained on TTM’s Instagram account, his family was not affected by the natural disaster, but he’s well aware that many people in his home state were not nearly as fortunate. “The devastation that Hurricane Harvey has caused Houston and the surrounding areas hits especially close to home for me,” Tay wrote in the caption. “Thankfully, my family in Texas is safe but many are not. Many are without homes and shelter and will be for quite a while. We at TTM Lifestyle want to do our part to help these families affected by the storm by donating all profits from these PRAY 4 HOUSTON shirts to the Houston Flood Relief Fund at YouCaring.com. Maci and myself have pledged to match whatever proceeds are raised from these shirts to donate as well. We thank you for your charitable donation with the purchase of this shirt.”
Maci and Taylor alike have been active in retweeting different ways to donate and get involved when it comes to helping those in Houston. The two aren’t the only reality stars affected by the devastation in the south; last week, Jen Arnold from The Little Couple revealed their former neighborhood was destroyed and OutDaughtered star Danielle Busby shared that her mother had lost her home in the flooding.
