Singer Lily Allen has finally returned to music!
The 28-year-old Brit took time off from her career to be a full time mom to her young daughters Ethel and Marnie. Their dad is Lily's husband Sam Cooper. The "Smile" singer suffered several heartbreaking miscarriages before she was able to finally become a mother.
In a TV ad for the British department store John Lewis, Lily sings a cover of the Keane song "Somewhere Only We Know." Though she doesn't appear in the ad, her voice sounds great and it's nice to hear that Lily is making a return to the music biz.
And this isn't Lily's only new effort. Recently, the "LDN" singer reported that she was working on an upcoming third album, due early next year. She warned fans not to expect a whole record full of lullabies.
"It's not an earnest 'I'm a mum' type record," she told British newspaper The Mirror. "It's empowering. There's some feminist vibes going on." Later, she added, "Being a mother is great, but if you are a creative person you have that urge to get back out."
