Looks like you won’t have take the second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning light to get to Never, Neverland… because it’s coming to you!

On Jan. 19, it was revealed that, following the success of The Sound of Music, NBC will be planning a live, theatrical presentation of Peter Pan.
And we cannot wait!

Original Sound of Music Actress Slams Carrie Underwood’s Performance

The musical is to hit the small screen on Dec. 4, and casting has already begun for the program. While NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt has already named his pick for the boy who won’t grow up---wait for it… Miley Cyrus—we’d like to try our own hand at casting!

Check out our picks for who would be totally perfect for these roles!

Peter Pan: Cody Simpson

Despite this role usually being filled by a girl and Mr. Greenblatt suggesting Miley, the rumors are that they’re going for a man for Peter. For The Sound of Music, they went with a singer who got to try her hand at acting, and we’d like to see them do it again with Peter! We think Cody Simpson has the look and the voice down, so let’s see him try acting!

Understudy: Niall Horan

Captain Hook: Neil Patrick Harris

Anyone who has ever seen Neil Patrick Harris perform—or anyone who has ever watched the Tony Awards—know that NPH is a natural-born performer! He’s a little too old to play Peter Pan, but we think he could kill it as Captain Hook! And who could forget when he dressed up as Captain Hook for Halloween and totally nailed it?

Understudy: Harry Connick Jr.

Wendy Darling: Abigail Breslin

Abigail Breslin may have made a career for herself on the big screen, but did you know she has totally impressive pipes to boot? Not only is she age appropriate to take on this role, but we’d also love to see her show off her singing voice!

Understudy: Jennette McCurdy

Tinkerbell: Kristin Chenoweth

Okay, okay, we know that in the stage production, Tinkerbelle was done through cleverly lighting tricks, but we’d still love to see Kristin Chenoweth take on this part! Although, Tinkerbelle doesn’t have any lines… which is almost a waste of Kristin’s incredible voice!
