In The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio plays an unsavory character, to say the least. His character, Jordan Belfort, does some things that may be embarrassing to do on film—but it didn’t faze Leo… not even when his parents and friends saw the scene! He admitted that when he apologized to his parents for his lewd, on-screen acts—it was “very much just a little joke!”
“They understand that I’m playing a character here and look all of us had the attitude of playing characters that had no moral compass that given every temptation and were completely consumed by power and wealth,” he explained. “We kind of looked like it as a giant Hieronymus Bosch painting. It was just pure debauchery and we were Roman emperors in the middle of it and so there I think that once you put into that context, my parents felt the same way. It was entertaining.”
Seriously—someone give this man an Oscar!
