Leo goes green with
new NYC condo

He's the Hollywood poster boy for environmental consciousness, and now Leonardo DiCaprio is making sure his East Coast home reflects his green ideals. The actor, who's served on the Board of Directors of the environmental organization Global Green USA, has just bought an apartment in Riverhouse, an eco-friendly building overlooking the Hudson River in NYC. The 264-unit condominium glass tower uses low-emission paints, has a 24-hour fresh filtered air system, a water treatment facility and rotating solar panels. But it's not just green, it's superluxe with an indoor 50-foot lap pool, media café, fitness center and a dog spa. Leo, who produced the environmental documentary The 11th Hour, also drives a hybrid car and had solar panels put on his LA home.
