In Cleveland, he’s known as King James — but even around the real royals, LeBron James seems to think he’s in charge!
Yesterday, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended an NBA game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of their tour of NYC and the United States. After the game, the 29-year-old power forward broke royal etiquette when he put his sweaty arm around the future queen — after playing an intense game of ball!

As etiquette expert William Hansen explains, “Although I am sure the Duchess of Cambridge won’t have worried about it, Mr. James should not have put his arm around her. Americans are much more tactile than we Brits and this is another example of an American being too touchy feely with the British royalty. You’d have think they’d have learned by now.”
And we don’t think LBJ’s sweat stains are helping with the situation!

“A shower would have been preferable but he had just finished a game — so even more reasons for him not have opened his pits by lifting his arm and placing it around Her Royal Highness,” Mr. Hansen explains.
Luckily, we think LeBron made it up to the royal couple with his perfect gift — a custom Cavs jersey for Prince George! Hmm, do we think he’ll be taking his talents across the pond one day?
