LeAnn Rimes Releases
"Borrowed," A Song
About Her Affair With
Eddie Cibrian (AUDIO)
LeAnn Rimes has always been very vocal about her 2009 affair with now-husband Eddie Cibrian, but to top it off, the country star is now singing a song about it.
“The song is about...the situation,” LeAnn told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show about her new single “Borrowed.” “I did go through a very public affair...with Eddie, who is now my wonderful husband.”
Back in 2009, LeAnn, who was married to Dean Sheremet, engaged in an extramarital affair with her Northern Lights co-star Eddie, who was then married to model Brandi Glanville. While the couple’s infidelity has been highly publicized since the affair first took place, the situation has recently picked up speed following several public Twitter feuds between LeAnn and Brandi. So why not sing about it?
In “Borrowed,” the 30-year-old sings: “I know you’re not mine, only borrowed/ ‘Cause you already belong to her, at least you said so/ But I’m starting to believe it ain’t the whole truth/ As we’re lying side by side, I get the whole you.”
She continues, “Do you make love to her, the way you make love to me?/ Well, I keep myself alone in case you call tonight/ It’s pathetic how I lie around and wait all the damn time/ I don’t want to give you back/ You’re the best I’ll never have, but you’re borrowed.”
LeAnn also confessed that she feels the tune is something many people will be able to relate to, adding, “The song looks into the darker moments of things. It's a very intimate look into a very rough moment of my life.”
